One of real advantages of the LAMY AL-star fountain pen is that nibs can be purchased separately and are easily exchanged. A 14K gold nib can also be purchased in nib sizes ranging from EF-OM. The filling system is either a proprietary T10 cartridge or converter; however, the Z28 converter is sold separately.
